I've recently aquired speakers specifically for dell computers, and whenever I plug them in the computer doesn't recognize them. I've tried adding new hardware, etc.. yet nothing will work.

Is there anything I've not tried, or something I can try to fix this problem? I've not had problems like this before on this computer.

I'm not doubting you but I just can't see what they can do to make speakers proprietary other than an oddball jack
When you plug in a set of headphones, do they work?
Have you run the Dell Diagnostics for the speakers?

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
Do not send me PMs with problems that should be posted in the forums. Keep it in the forums, so everyone benefits
