Printer only prints gobbly gook Printer will not print normal characters

My printer has worked fine! Then all at once it only prints garbage, not letters but wierd characters in all programs. I'm using windows xp. What could be wrong?

Did a new XP update come through? Some time the small things cause big problems. Try uninstalling then reinstalling with updated drivers for the printer.
