Help
When I went to connect my laptop by wireless I noticed that one of the available networks is BT openzone but unsecured . As I am a BT costumer am I legally allowed to use it?

If its not yours, I'd say no. It might be a hot spot, if it is then you might but for home use I think the owners of the hot spot wouldn't be too happy. lol

I was informed that it was LEGAL to use any unsecured WiFi, but you may not get into the network, look at anything that belongs to the company, etc. Only using the internet connection is legal since there is a way to secure it and they did not choose to do so. But like I said, it is illegal to get to their network resources on their network.

So by your logic if a car is unlocked I can take it? They had a way to secure it but chose not to. And there is a difference between a coffee shop having hot spot for their customers to use the net and someone sitting in their home mooching.
