I suppose I could 'experiment' with the lines/ filters and such but it might take too long-- -I've got an
HP all in one printer, scanner-& fax, ,- I want to use the fax machine on/with my one phone line - - Is there a certain way to "split" the phone lines/,in/out jack on the fax, so there's no interferance,or normal phone conversation comming thru the computer by-way-of the fax machine-? Should I add one of the 'filters' that I got with the Verizon DSL kit ? --thanks johnwf

I would say yes to the line filter. As far as running a RJ45 splitter I would think that is possible but not being familiar with the HP all-in-one I can not swear to it.

Something to think about if you plan on keeping the fax on all the time is how will you distinguish between an incoming call or an incoming fax if they are sharing the same line = same phone number.

I have accidentally picked up a ringing fax line. Quit an unpleasant hearing experience.
