I've got a question that I hope someone can answer. I recently had my car broken into and they tried to use a card they got out of my purse online. I believe that person even responded to a wanted ad on craigslist via email. So MY QUESTION is, can you get an IP address from an email and if so, is there anyway to compare it to them using a card online, maybe an IP address from that? Thanks for any response!

Yes, you can get an IP from the email headers.
Yes, you can contact the website where the card was used
and if the admins are willing they can retrieve logs from the
credit card transaction.
However, burglary of a vehicle and credit card fraud are serious crimes
and should be handled by Law Enforcement. It's quite possible a search warrant
will be needed to see those logs.
