i just recently reinstalled windows on my computer, and everythings fine except for my sound. under device manager i see 'other devices' and und there i see 'multimedia audio controller' it has a yellow question mark with an exclamation mark on it.

any system info i can try to help.

windows xp service pack 2
dell dimension 4600 desktop computer

NOTE: i have tried going to Dell.com and downloading the audio stuff from there, but the .net framework doesnt download, i get an error or something. which leads to me not being able to download any of the audio stuff there.

When you click download on the Dell website you would have been given two choices:

1. Downloading using the Dell download manager.
2. Download using internet explorer.

You should choose the 2nd option. If you don't get the choice any more delete all your cookies and try again.
