BleepingComputer.com: Did I make a mistake?

So, I just bought this motherboard

which says the memory standard is DDR3 2133 OC but 4x240 pins slots

before I bought the motherboard I bought 2x2g DDR2 800 RAM with 240 pins http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820227199

is the ram I bought compatible with my motherboard? I found a few things saying no because the pin count was different and they required different voltage, but friends told me that that no longer applied and because most DDR2 is now 240 pins it doesn't matter, but, before the motherboard is charged, which will be in 3 days when it is supposed to arrive, I need to know if I am okay or if I need a different mobo

even if it isn't the best idea, if it works at all let me know because the motherboard I found was the only one I found thats compatible with my processor.

EDIT: ok, post no longer valid, I got overeager and cancelled the order and bought a 45 dollar am2+/am2 compatible motherboard with DDR2 800 standard memory so I can sleep

DDR2 will not work in a DDR3 slot to my knowledge. They both have 240 pins, and although I have never used DDR3 Im pretty sure the pin spot is in a different location to keep you from mixing it, because like you said, the voltage is totally different. You will either have to swap out the memory or the motherboard.
