I cannot get explorer.exe to run at startup on my Dell vostro 220. I get no desktop at all and get the error that it can't load the program, so I bring up task manager and click on new task and type"explorer.exe" and it comes up fine. I feel like my registry may be corrupted but don't know where to look.

This could be caused by a virus. Have you run any scans?

Here are some links to scanning softwares to get you started (after you manually start explorer):

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

Malwarebytes (MBAM): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if desired.

Then we can fix what's left.
