BleepingComputer.com: wierd box opens when trying to open an .msi file

this box pops up when i try to open an .msi file.



I've also tried to download this and after the install i can't find where it has installed, it doesn't tell me where it installs to and i can't find it in my programs folder. Annoying.

I'm trying to install this which is an .msi file.

I came across the issue a while ago and gave up trying to fix it, it has come about again since i'm trying to install something else now via windows installer.

I've looked through a few google searches for the same issue and havn't been able to fix the problem that way.

I don't have a Vista install disk, so i can't do a system restore, neither will that be an option if i had one as i've never done one before and me and my girl share the comp so i don't want to accidentaly lose any stuff from the computer.
