Start avast! antivirus by clicking on the desktop shortcut.
1. Click on the hard disk icon in right. This will select all local hard disks to scan.
2. Click on the play icon on left to start scanning

tia08,

You can run a boot time scan if you are worried about user accounts being scanned. Open the UI select menu, boot time scan, you can start it immediately or on the next start up, when you schedule make sure you tell it what to do if it finds something, move to chest is best.
