I have just recently bought a new ASROCK K7VT4A PRO motherboard c/w sempron processor, heatsink+Fan, and GeFORCE FX 5200 AGP graphics card. I followed the installation instructions as per the manual but when I went to boot up the machine started, ran through part of the post and then lost all power. I am wondering if I need to upgrade my power supply (currently a 300 ATX with max output of 300w) as the manual say's there is an auto cutout facility if the CPU overheats. Is it possible that the cooling fan on the CPU is not getting enough power to run at it's optimum speed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How many USB devices are hooked up to your computer? 300W is a little on the low end, so it may be possible that you should upgrade to a 400W...or if your're feeling froggy...500W.

But in all reality..400W should do you.

My first thought was the power supply being on the low end.

Go for 400 or more, this will give you some room to expand without worring about power issues.
