I've got a 1GB Lexar Media SD card. I've had it for a few years, but haven't used it much lately. I recently bought a Nintendo Wii and wanted to use this SD card in it. I put it in my card reader on my desktop & found the card still had files on it. I deleted all of the files, which seemed to work just fine. It didn't list any files on the card anymore. But, when I "ejected" the card, pulled it out, and put it back in to check it, ALL of the files were back on it! I right-clicked on the drive & told it to format it. It acted like it was working, but then instead of a "success" message, it said Windows couldn't format it. I'm running Windows XP.

My husband has a laptop with Windows Vista. He tried to delete the files & to format it. It spent forever saying it was formatting it, only for it to again not work. All of the files are still there!!

I've put the card in my Wii, but when I tried to use it, the Wii says there is no SD card. I tried putting it in my digital camera and it just locked up. I've got another SD card that works just fine in my computer, Wii, and camera.

I just tried sliding the "lock" into the locked position and then sliding it back to unlocked, then tried again to delete the files. No luck.

Is there anything else I can try, or is my card dead??

Thanks for any tips!

Sandy

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
