Hi there,
I am studying online, over internet, and have just found out I have to go into hospital for a couple of months. I can take my PC, but won't have an internet connection and, if possible, I want to keep up my study, offline.
I've used WGET to download what I think is a 'mirror version' of my online campus site. All good. Except, the site requires user authentication (username, password login) So, when I go to access 'my' course files, as of on my own PC (the downloaded files) I can't - it treats me like a 'guest user' and denies access - obviously, the login form /index page, copied to my computer, doesn't work!
So frustrating! I am an enrolled student, I'm not trying to hack into what I shouldn't; I've done the download whilst being logged in, to no avail.
Can anyone suggest how I might get around this? I believe I have to add my user name and password somehow, to the URL (http://www.campus.openpolytechnic.ac.nz) in the WGET command line for the download but would love it if someone could spell out how I go about this?
I really need to keep studying or I'll die of the boredom!! Any suggestions warmly welcomed...I have until the coming Tuesday...
Thanks!
