I can't seem to find anyone anywhere who knows what to do without doing a complete VISTA reinstall, which apparently Dell doesn't even provide the CD for!
I've tried restarting telephony - didn't work. Reboot from recovery CD - can't find anything the helps as it's not a startup problem. System restore NEVER works for me and the earliest I can go back is Sept.
I use my cell as modem occasionally. The last time I recall using it was July. Worked just fine then. I need to use it now but I can't open the control panel option 'phone and modem'. The modem./cell is installed and under system devices it says it is working properly, however I can't set up a dial up connection for it because I can't assign the modem to the connection because I can't open control panel.
Anyone have any suggestions? I haven't found anyone yet. I know everyone can imagine the time involved in a complete reinstall. I would have to install all software, etc. Crazy for something so odd. Surely there is a reg edit or driver or some time of install????
Any help is appreciated.
