So...Quad core i7s can't be overclocked? :/

Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor

Doesn't seem I can get more voltage into this. Quite upsetting to spend that money and find out it's not working out.

Or maybe I just missed something? Do any of you know any tricks about it, or am I basically screwed?

Im not an overclocker dont believe in it, but I imagine it can, does your motherboard allow for overclocking? what kind of motherboard is it?

Shouldn't have to pump more voltage into it. A D0 stepping (assuming a D0 since you are just posting this) should be good for at least 3.4ghz at stock (~1.25v), most get considerably more. Just bump your BCLK up, adjust memory timings/voltage/divider and tweek it. Careful of the heat on those with stock coolers. Mine tried to hit 90C at 3.0ghz .

As asked above, what motherboard/CPU stepping/cooling/memory are you using?

You're right. I hit 104 degrees more than a few times before I shut her off until the fan arrived.

Not a big fan of that cooler, but you have top grade equipment to overclock with. No real tricks to overcloclocking your setup. Crank up you BCLK, watch your heat, enjoy.
