My Laptop crashed in the middle of a game, the screen went different colours it also displayed £££$$$%%%"""&^**% symbols across the screen, the the screen went black. Since then whenever I turn my laptop on the Power On button LED lights up and the computer appears to start up, but the screen remains black. The flickering light which indicates that the laptop is doing something, flickers for one second and then stops . The computer is on as the LED's are lit up, but it stops processing and the screen remains black. The battery takes a long time to charge from orange to Green and when it is green and I turn my computer on, the light turns to orange within 2 minutes. What is strange is that on two occasions I have managed to start my computer in safemode but apart from those two times the screen remains black. I went onto the HP trouble shoot page and I performed 'Troubleshoot the system board' the outcome was 'If LED on but laptop does not start it needs repairing' Please help! I don't know what to do any more and I'm trying desperately to avoid buying a new laptop, Thanks!
