My PC has frozen up a few times....its not necessarily the hard drive right? I replaced it a few months ago

Although I have heard a few clicking noises but this when I first got it, havent heard anything in a long time. Reason Im asking is because I dont have any money to replace or buy an external drive to backup my stuff.

I mean the computer itself is over 3 years old so if it does crash it could be something else right, which means the hard drive would remain unharmed?

A system crashes for many reasons...not the least of which can be malware.
