Stephen P. Tarzia of Ford Engineering Design Center has released a utility that makes use of your laptop's speakers and mic in the same way a bat uses sonar for navigation.

When you walk away from your desk the screen will blank.

Bah! I built that into my computer YEARS ago using nothing but a Styrofoam cup and a rubber band.
