Is there something that displays the same info as the Services tab is MSconfig but also displays info about what each entry is? I think I remember having seen it before, but I forgot how to get to it (assuming I wasn't dreaming). Is it a "Run" command, or something else?

Also, if a service is labeled as "stopped", is it ok to un-check it, or does it make no difference?

Hi Lanscader,

Do you mean clicking: Start > Run and typing services.msc

I believe the only thing checking or unchecking will do is enable or disable that service.

Ah, yes. Services.msc was exactly what I was looking for.

River Rat, that progrm looks interesting. I'll give it a try, too.

Thanks
