I finally found out the manufacturer of the ethernet controller is, Intel®. Went to Intel website got the driver, Ethernet and the net are working great again.

I have to remaining to solve, the Unknown Device I'd love to know what the heck it is and the Multimedia Controller I know is the TV Tuner card and I have the driver for it but it tells me there's no compatible hardware found, weird!!! I know its Hauppauge and the driver I have is the Hauppauge for XP from Acer for the Aspire E700 so I don't know what's up there.

Any suggestions from anyone for those two would be appreciate and helpful. (asking Acer is dumb as they just say send the PC to us and we'll re-image it for you for $400!!!)

Well, I finally got the TV Tuner Card sorted out, I had to download the WinTV v6 which installs the driver.

only one problem "Unknown Device" that is still showing, i was told it may have something to do with power management. I installed all drivers I could from Acer website and the ethernet from intel site so I just gotta find that and all will be rosie.
