Hi,
We have two PCs at home and one boots right up to a blue screen that we simply cannot get past. I tried to start in safe mode but it kicks back to the same blue screen, no matter what I do, each time, with the following information:
A problem has been detected and windows shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
Disable or uninstall any anti-virus disc defrag or back up uitlities. Check your hard drive configuration and check for updated drivers.
Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption and then restart.
Technical Information:
***Stop: 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x82F59CA0, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000)
The second number in the above parentheses change to 0x8284CA0 and back to 0x82F84CAO each time I start up again. The rest stay the same.
When I push the power button the PC shuts off immediately and when I start again it goes to the selection screen (as if I'm hitting F8) asking if I want to start up in safe mode (and the other selections). No matter which I select the same blue screen comes up.
Thank you.

0x00000024 is usually a hdd error, so the first thing id do is boot to the recovery console from the windows xp cd and do a checkdisk
chkdsk c: /p /r
chkdsk c: /p /r
