BleepingComputer.com: Winamp freezes when you try to start it

I had Winamp on my computer but I had to get rid of it. Every time I tried to use it it would come on the screen and then nothing. It would sit there and and do absolutely nothing. The only way to shut it down was to restart my computer. I looked for answers at the Winamp forum but I didn't get a straight answer over there. I was told to uninstall Winamp completely and download it again. I tried that several times but that didn't solve the problem. Anyone else out there having the same experience? By the way I am using Vista.
