Hello,

Although I've visited your forum many times over the years as a guest looking for information on various topics, this time I feel compelled to register and begin some serious checking into what may or may not be a malware problem with my main home PC.

After seeing how other users have been helped on your site, I've no doubts that I've come to the right place!

But, regardless of my situation, I'd like to express the the great appreciation and respect I have for the expertise, patience, and dedication demonstrated by the many system techs who so graciously volunteer their time helping others cope with the ever-expanding list of threats and exploits that are out there waiting to ponce on any vulnerability to harm us all!

Ever-improving on the legacy of the folks who first began sharing helpful tips and information by way of dialup modem accessed BBS's over twenty years ago your forum, and others like it, are true examples of the Internet's best qualities!

Thank you all!

I found this site on the Yahoo! search engine, as Google no longer works correctly due to adnetserver and three or four others.

I heard about BC from the HP dragon contest, actually....

I decided to join, not because of the contest, but because the forum seems to be filled with fun, and interesting people, and it's been a long time since I found a forum that might actually hold my interest. :D

This is exactly what I was thinking when I registered here.

I recently got the latest Gateway FX laptop, and decided that since I consider it one of my most valuable possesions, I'd better learn how to take extremely good care of it. Everytime I'd ask a question on Ask.com about it, this site was always one of the first hits to come up. Thank you to everyone who have helped me learn more about my laptop than I ever thought to ask. thumbup.gif

As way of introduction, I am Paul in Tennessee. Western side of the state between Memphis and Nashville. As my username indicates, I am a father of 5 children. Nope, not hispanic, but I am from Texas and took Spanish 4 years in school. Anyway that's a bit about me. The problem follows:

I got on my computer (HP) and as I watched the screen come up I noticed many black bugs eating up my screen so I called a friend in North Carolina, as I am in Tennessee, to appeal to him for help. He provided this link. I am still in the process of trying to do something as I battle pop ups like crazy. If there are any in here that can give any advice that too would be great. I am broke right now, so buying anything is OUT. I truly am out of money. Anyway I am here because of that. The bugs eating my screen and the pop ups. Thank you in advance for any help you might have to offer. I do use Windows XP home edition.

Paul

Greetings! I'm an avid fan of Steve Bass at PCWorld. He mentioned Bleeping Computer in his most recent column. I have found his referrals to be helpful and/or entertaining and safe. I've just spent a few minutes looking around at the site and I'm very impressed. I use online support both professionally and personally so I know the value of great support sites! I'll be back......
