Hi i want to get a Usb Wireless Adapter but im not sure what is the right one for me. I was looking at a USB Wireless-N 802.11n WiFi Network Adapter 300Mbps, and not sure if its enough. Is this the highest performance adapter or not? I am a gamer, i surf the internet a lot and i don't like to lagg is this adapter right for me? What kind would you suggest?

Networks are only as fast as the slowest component. So unless you have the router that will go that fast then it makes no difference. But if you are an online gamer you will want to be wired to the router. No matter the bandwidth of a wireless adapter it still has to transmit which equals lag. just my opinion.

oh ok, but im sure not all wireless adapters are the same are they? If they are not then what are the highest setting of an adapter? eg. 300Mbps 802.11n (what does #'s mean by the way)

No not all of them are the same, hence the letters. But I would say that all 802.11g adapters are pretty much the same. I would say the same for 802.11n adapters. But they never make something new that isn't backwards compatible when it comes to these adapters. So a 802.11n will work on a G router, just at the G bandwidth. But here again, G = 22Mbs typical and N = 144Mbs typical, no matter what the bandwidth transmitting is still slower than it would be through a wire.
