Hi, I hope you can help me out with this. I have a Dell Dimension 3100 desktop. I believe that it has a power button problem. I can't start it up. I have changed the power supply, but still no joy.

It did start up once when I pushed the button very hard. Any suggestions for how to test this or replace it?

Thanks, Harv

The power button is actually a very simple device. You can try wiring the reset button to power on the PC.

We are talking Dell here. No reset button. Wires are run through a harness that has a connector that looks like a floppy drive ribbon cable connector. There is a white connector that is near the front, that looks like it is possibly connected to the ribbon. Maybe it is a way to "push" the button.
