Network Chat problem

Hi!

My computer is connected through Ethernet and i've 3 other laptops in different rooms connected through Wireless. How can i communicate (send message like messenger does) without having to download any programs in WINDOWS 7?

I've heard of MSG, NET SEND and stuff like that but none of them works in my computer. I've tried everything
please help

Without a program? got 4 tin cans and some string? How big is the house? you could just yell.

This program seems fairly small and straight forward. This is just one, google LAN IM or LAN chat and you'll find more.

Vista and Win7 do not have Messenger Service or the net send command, so without a program you can't do it. If I am not mistaken, the Messenger Service is turned off in XP if you have SP1 installed.
