Hello BC, I have two computers, one running Vitsa Home Premium and the other running XP Media Center Edition. I have several folders sharing between the two, but I'm trying to back up some of my Vista documents onto the XP computer. When I run the backup on the Vista computer it ask for a password, so I created the same password on both computers.

I'm moving it to a shared folder on the XP computer and I have the Allow network users to change my files checked.

The error message I get is:

The network share could not be accessed for the following reason:

You need Full control permission for the network share. Make the user a co-owner of the share, with Full Control. The network share cannot be on a computer running Windows XP Home.

Now I did some research about my XP computer and it turns out Media Center Edition is a Home Edition with Professional Codebase.

Thanks in advance for any help and idea.

Sorry I figured it out

I had to turn off Simple File Sharing under control panel/folder options/view, then set the sharing options to Full Control on the target
XP folder
