AVI file with PCM audio? Wary of downloading just any converter!

Hi there!

So, I recorded a video of a dance performance, and want to stick it on my PSP for reference. My brother tried to convert the file, which is an AVI, using the software he usually uses...but it won't convert the audio, which is PCM (which I've never heard of). And without the audio, it won't convert the video.

Has anyone else had any experience with this kind of situation? Any suggestions for a *safe* file converter?

...oddly enough, the data wasn't supported by my PSP, and there was a watermark right in the middle of the video. It may not have been an activated version, but I am broke! :thumbsup:

SUPER is free. It doesn't add a watermark.

No, not a dork. The SUPER website is confusing and hard to navigate (their program is equally well designed, interface-wise). But it's worth the hassle because the program converts almost everything.

I ended up trying to convert right to an MP4 a number of times before I had the idea to convert the AVI into *another* AVI with a different sound format, and *then* converted it into an MP4...put it on my PSP...and victory!!!
