Hello all! I am new to Bleeping computers! I have found your tutorials to be very helpful in my quest to erase these harmful programs, but I think i may have messed something up or missed something. I used the tutorials for deleting smitfraud and avg with killbox, smitrem, panda, adware, and ewido, yet am still having a problem! Everything seems to be gone except for now when i start my computer, the window that had the avg pop up in it in front of my desktop wallpaper is now white and my cpu usage is 100% all the time! Hopefully You guys can be of some assistance to me in fixing this problem! Thank you!

Hello starrbryte and welcome to the BC malware forum.

Your operating system is extremely out of date. By not keeping the OS updated the computer is vulnerable to every infection on the net and in emails today and trying to repair an unpatched system is virtually impossible. For update purposes, Microsoft has even stopped supporting a system that is this far out of date. Go to the Windows Update site and install Service Pack 2. Once that is done, go back to the Windows Update site and install all available Critical Updates. This will patch the system with the most current security fixes and plug all the known holes which are present on this system.

After the update run HijackThis again and post a new log back here as a reply to this topic and I will review it when it comes in.

Cheers.
