Hi l recently built a site for a client which worked very well.
The original spec was to build and maintain the site, including any updates.
My client now wants to do 'everything' himself, which is absolutely fine by me.
However if he makes a 'pigs ear' out of the site l don't want any comeback.
Does anyone have any well worded disclaimers l can ask him to sign before l hand it over to him?
I just want to make sure all parties are happy with the agreement.
Many thanks

It doesn't even need to be fancy...
"I agree that from <date> forth I am responsible for all updated and alterations to <name of website>. I also agree that my contract with <your name or company name> to <list of contracted services> is void, and that <your name or company name> is released from all responsibility. Further, I agree that <name of website> is functional to my complete satisfaction, and that <your name or company name> has fulfilled their contractual obligations. "
That is just off the top of my head, but is something that I would use. You may want to also have a witness sign the contract also.

Hi Groovicus
That's great thanks.
Another thought did come to mind though.
As is usual l have put my company name as the designer at the bottom of his homepage.
Should that stay there? i dont want someone else taking credit for a site i built.
Any thoughts?
Also perhaps it might be a good idea if one of your guys in the know created a tutorial on the legalities of web building.. etc...
Many thanks
