Last semester I downloaded this for a class. It ran out, and I went to the control panel to remove it. The office 2007 uninstaller came up, and when it was done, there was a message box saying it was not completely uninstalled. If offered no further instructions, nor did it say which part was not uninstalled. I'm running a search, and it's not finding those so that I can uninstall manually. I specifically ran a search for the MS Office Pic Manager, nothing. But a search of anything about Office 2007 returns nothing.
Now, I get a camera, up load my pictures and GUESS WHAT they show up in Microsoft Office 2007 Picture Manager. Now, each picture will ONLY OPEN in this viewer, which has all features disabled since the subscription ran out. I don't want my pics to open there! grrrr.
So, whatdya think? (oh, xpsp3)
Thanks, Sharon

You can choose a default program to open images. Try the instructions here and see if they help.

The reason this doesn't work, is that there is no choice there at program access for image editing. Browser, email, media player, instant messaging are all that are offered and available to choose.
To make things worse, MS picture manager has put it's tiny icon on top of all the icon I have for pictures. I want to remove this program from my machine, but I swear I can't find it at all.
To add insult to injury, when I import a pic to picasa, there's a small red x in a white circle smack dab in the middle of the picture. Like Microsoft added a brand to it.
this saddens me.

I can't recall, are we supposed to just leave it when there is no further answer and continue to wait, or can I bump it?
If I need to wait, that's really cool with me. I was just afraid if I didn't add this it would get closed.

I can wait.

Just let me know.

Something to try:

Open up My Computer from your desktop.
Click on Tools/Folder Options/File Types tab.

Scroll through the list, find the file extension(s) associated with the photos.
Highlight the extension.
Next click Change.
Choose the program you want to open the file.
Click OK.
See if it works.

Oh I was so excited to try this! and indeed I could choose a different file extension. But when I checked, all of my photos, even ones I had before I downloaded this monstrosity of a program STILL have that symbol on them, and can only be opened with this MS picture program, which of course allows NO editing of pictures, or any other function, because it's still prompting me to convert this expired subscription to full.

Thank you so much, Queen Evie...any other ideas?

Also, when I do a search for this trial subscription, I can not find it. Yet, I see that it's still working somewhere. When I attempted to uninstall it, it said uninstall not successful. Then it went into hiding!
Truly dastardly!!

I had this subscription on 2 computers. It was removed easily off of one computer. But it won't off of my home computer.
I can't even find it to remove it manually.
