Possible to move files from XP to Kubuntu on same HDD?

Hi all

I have set up a dual-boot with XP and Kubuntu. I did this using Wubi, so I have no separate partition, just a 17 GB folder called Kubuntu on my hard disk.

I want to transfer a couple of pdf and jpeg files to my Kubuntu installation. Is it possible to do this from windows directly into my home directory in Kubuntu? I mean, without using a flashdrive and a reboot? I guess I would have to mount the linux file system somehow, but I have no clue as to how to do that and if what I want is possible.

Hope someone can give me some insights.

I've never tried this, as I don't use wubi, but here's what I came up with: This post from the Ubuntu forums recommends using Explore2fs to browse your wubi install from Windows.

Solved this by creating a shared folder.

mkdir /media/host/wubi/shared
sudo ln -s /media/host/wubi/shared /home/shared

Another method is->

if u have ur kubuntu partition in either ext2 or ext3 then you can install Ext2IFS which makes it easier to access ur kubuntu files on windows for ever

I tried that, but the problem is, I don't have a separate partition for Kubuntu. Luckily for me Kubuntu is a lot more resourceful and I can access all my windows files from there anyway. I only realized this after going through all the trouble :thumbsup:
