I have a Compaq Presario V6000 (no letters behind it). Service tag: V62106S S/N: CNF6513QKT P/N: RP2036A#ABA

When ya boot it up the lights come on the HD initiates but nothing on screen.

Any ideas?

Thanks

RJPW

Probably the inverter or the backlight(s)

Try plugging an enternal monitor into the video port on the back of the laptop and rebooting. If the monitor comes on, then as Garmanma stated, it's either the inverter or the backlight.

Another thing you can do to see if anything is on the LCD screen itself is to use a flashlight at about a 45 degree angle to the screen and see if you can see anything as far as graphics or your desktop.

Hope this helps,
