who will be able to switch to win 7 for free? if not, does anyone know about how much it will cost? thanks in advance. bricker

If you have bought a new computer since Windows 7 went RTM, then you might be able to get a free upgrade. It depends on the manufacturer. Otherwise, if you are a student, then you can get Windows 7 for $29.99 until January 3rd. Otherwise, Amazon has these prices listed.
