I use word, excel, and ppt only in MS office 2007 pack.
I would like to install only these applications. So, that it will free up memory space.
I have googled and tried to perform the steps in the following website.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311241

I have typed "D:\Microsoft Office 2007\setup.exe\admin" in the run window and hit Enter key.
I am getting the following message. "Windows cannot find.D:\Microsoft Office 2007. Make sure

you have typed the name correctly". But, I have typed the path correctly.
Is there any alternate way to customize installation?
Thank you.

OS : XP SP3

Yes, the D drive is optical drive.
I have recently installed XP. OS has assigned D drive to optical drive.
I have changed the optical drive to H today, using the disk management.
Thank you.

The issue has solved.

Customizing office 2007 installation ( Install only required applications ) :

Incert the office CD. The installation program asks for the Product Key, then moves on to 'Accept the terms of this Agreement' and then to a screen where you choose 'Install Now' or Customize'. Choose Customize.

On the Installation Options tab you see a list showing the components of Office - icons labelled MS Excel, MS Outlook and so on. There is a '+' to the left of each icon and a down arrow on the right of each icon.

Click the down arrow on the Excel icon and select 'Run from My Computer'. Do the same with the Word and PPT icons.

Now click the down arrow for Outlook and select 'Not Available'. Do the same for the Visio Viewer, Shared Features and Office Tools icons. You are now ready to install. Click Install Now. When finished click Close.

You will find only Word, Excel and PPT are installed.
