I have a hp a1600n that has developed an issue.. Machine will not boot. The light on the power button blinks but nothing else.
Any suggestions wold be helpful.

I have tried most of these, but will start from step one and go through the step by step.

Did you move the computer around or open the computer to do some hardware updates? There might be a loose or improperly plugged in cord, or your PSU is dead. How old is this computer?

To the best of my knowledge no new installs or movement. This is my daughters computer.
When she brought it to me, because of the problem, I did blow the inside and checked the connections and replaced the internal battery. I could not find any touching or loose connections. All the boards and memory are secure.

Well, either your PSU is borked or your mobo doesn't like to turn on.

I kind of was thinking the PSU. Everything elese seems to be ok and anchored proberly.

Well, you can buy another 300W PSU and see if it works-- or you can take a PSU from your computer to see if it works on hers. If you don't have any idea how to take the PSU out, here is a link for that:
