With the mouse “wheel” you can scroll the pages vertically, but can you do something to scroll horizontally? Like pushing CTRL and then strolling with the mouse wheel?

That enlarges or shrinks the webpage in size.
Who said I couldn't have everything?

If you click middle button, you can see a circle with four arrows. To scroll in a direction move the cursor in the respective direction's arrow.

Totally cool. However, if I click the middle button, it just shows two arrows (up, and down) and I miss the arrows to the left, to the right. Damn!!!

You would see the left and right arrows only when there is a possibility of scrolling horizontally. Similarly, up and down arrows are shown when there is possibility to scroll vertically. If there is nothing to scroll then nothing is shown.

On some laptops you can scroll using the sides of the touchpad. Bottom does horizontal and the right edge does vertical.

I'm surprised no one has asked exactly which mouse you have.

So, I will - what mouse are you using? (make/model)

On many mice with scroll wheels, you can also push the wheel to the right or left to effect horizonal scrolling, as has been mentioned.

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!
