I have Windows XP Media Edition with a program called Ccleaner on it. When I run this program it shows one item that it won't delete off. It is a registry item. Here is what it says.
Unused File Extension {80b8c23c-16e0-4cd8-bbc3-cecec9a78b79} HKCR\{80b8c23c-16e0-4cd8-bbc3-cecec9a78b79}
I can go to this in REGEdit and it won't let me delete it either. I want to get rid of it. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Kelleym

That is an unused file type installed by Avira Antivir version 9.xx. It cannot be removed without you uninstalling Antivir first. You can add this registry key to exclusion in CCleaner through Options > Exclude > Add Registry.
Also BleepingComputer does not advise using the registry cleaning feature of CCleaner. Registry Cleaner programs may cause more problems than they boast of repairing.
