Can I use this RAM with this motherboard? ram?

I have this motherboard ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX. Can I use this ram (OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P20002GK ) or should I use this RAM ( Crucial Ballistix Tracer 3GB (3 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory (with LEDs) Model BL3KIT12864TN1337 ). Also which RAM would be better?

I think the DDR3 1333 is better, it says that this mobo supports. Here is the quote, word for word. "It features dual-channel DDR3 1333 memory support and accelerates data transfer rate up to 5200MT/s via HyperTransport 3.0 based system bus."

I guess it might be smarter to listen to what the box says :thumbsup:

It wasn't found on their website but I found 3 people selling it with the exact same information, word for word. If you want, I can find the official specifications for it, just to make sure.

The DDR3 1333 mHZ, (PC3 10600) will work according to specifications. I found 2 websites that actually sell it and they say the same thing. Apparently, Asus doesn't like to show off their merchandise online.

So I take it this RAM will not work at all OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P20002GK . This is the ram I have now. The other ram is still on its way.

Return this one and use the other one.. Why don't you get 4x 2GB RAM instead though? 3 Sticks is kind of a waste.. You don't get the full effect of duel channeling.

Sure. What is your budget on RAM?

Oh, and what exactly are you doing with this computer? If it's heavy gaming, I would go for 8GB RAM, but if it was daily browsing and low gaming, 3 GB will be sufficient..

Well, in that case, 3GB might be sufficient. What I would do is test it out, and if you think you lack performance, you can buy more RAM.

Yes I have everything, but I am not sure if my powere supply has two plugs to power my graphics card.
