I have my home PC connected to AT&T DSL, with the 2 Wire Modem. I bought a small Acer Notebook computer tonight. I just want to be able to use it here at the home mainly. Is there a way for the Acer to pick up the DSL I have, the Acer has a wireless card. The Acer will detect the 2 Wire but it doesn't connect. The 2 Wire has numbers on the back. If I put the numbers into the Acer when it asks for connection, will it pick up the 2 Wire DSL signal or is some kind of router needed? I don't want to really network, just pick up the internet signal. Also, if this works this way, will my 2 Wire still be locked as it is now, for security purposes? I hope I explained this right, if not maybe someone can help me. Thanks.
Right now when the Acer detects the 2 Wire, the 2 Wires says it is locked which is the way it should be for protection. The Acer is the 10.1 model.
