so I just dug up a really old 75 GB external hard drive (like USB 1.0 old) from my office to use, I plugged it in and it works just fine. I transfered some files onto it and shut down my computer for the night, turning off the hard drive afterwards. The next morning, I turned my computer on then my hard drive, tried to access it in My Computer and after a long wait, an error message pops up saying it was inaccessible due to an I/O error. I turn off my cpu, then the drive, wait, then turn it on first before my computer, and the same thing happens. I reboot, still no change. I then went into safely remove hardware and remove it, turn it off and on again, and now it doesn't even show up in My Computer. when I go to the device manager, it tells me that FIN PYVCXMVG1E70 SCSI CdRom Device is disabled [code 22]. when I click enable, it says windows was unable to enable the device. Reboot, and no change. please help! those files are very important!
