Ello, I have a slight problem. I recently reformated my drive to clear a previous problem, and then installed all my games again. Upon double clicking a desired game, all have the same error along this line:
Unable to initialize 3D output. Please verify that you have installed DirectX 8, and an updated video driver
The problem is, is that I have DirectX 9, and as far as my driver program says, (Driver Detective) it says everything is up to date... I have no idea what to do, since everything appears ok, when obviously, they're not....

well
go download the newest drivers and install them(not by doing it with driver detective)
and then go and download direct x 9 and reinstall that
what os do you have ?

Well, I have a Microsoft XP Home Edition 2002. And now that I look at it, my video output devices (I have 2 video cards), and in my device manager they show up only as "Video Controller VGA Compatible," and the other shows up as "Video Controller," And they both have a computer sign with a yellow "!" sign on it, next to them.

then you have no graphics card driver installed
do you know what graphics card you got ? if not do you know what computer you got ?(dell,hp)
