I can't use the DIVX player now.

Trying to run a .divx movie, the player hangs for a minute or so and then moving the slide bar I get "DivX Player has encountered a problems and needs to close."

Looking in the report I can see the Error Signature:
AppName: divx player.exe AppVer: 6.8.2.1 ModName: dmfplaybackmodule1.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0004886b

It all seemed to start after I upgraded to 7.0. I have since reverted back to 6.8 to no avail.

Any Ideas?

Did you simply revert or did you restore to a point prior to when you installed? If you didn't do that yet then I would suggest that as your next step.
I would never ask a person to do something that I wouldn't do myself.

Ahh no, I did the upgrade about 6+ months ago (don't know exactly) and haven't bothered to fix it until now.

I uninstalled 7 and then re-installed 6.

Is it worth winding windows back to the start of the year?
