iexplorer conflict with Microsoft Reader? Error message when I try to register Microsoft Reader

Got an error on internet explorer that says: "The instruction at '0x049d0068' referenced memory at '0x049d0068'. The memory could not be 'written'." It ONLY occurs when I try to register the copy of Microsoft Reader I just downloaded so I can read books on my PDA.

Saw a post about something similar (only not involving Microsft Reader), that said I should disable speech and handwriting recognition in Microsoft Office. Did that, didn't work.
