Hello,

I'm looking for the best easiest, (not asking much!), way to make a homemade icon for my desk top.

I have a few folders there I am getting tired of looking at, I don't exactly like what I found on the google search. . . . ? . . . ! ?

I have a folder of different colored icons
and also made some myself (for XP )
find a graphic you want to use and resize it make it no bigger than 50 x 50 pixels
many of mine are 50 x 40 etc once you have the icon the way you want it to look save it
as a jpg on your desktop,
(now the easy part ) go to your desktop right click and rename change the extension to ico.
now you have your icon. place them all in a folder so you know where to find them
( i have mine in my second drive.)
When you want a new icon all you need to do is right click on the folder you want to change
go down to properties, then click on the customize tab, then to change icon click on browse at the top
and find your new folder, open it then just along the end from look in ... click on the tiny arrow and click thumbnails,
you will now see what icon you want to pick click on it then click open, you will now see the icon click ok
next box click apply and now you have your new icon.
