GTA IV and Darkest of Days Crashing

Guys

Can anyone explain this crash, both games just freeze up after a short time and a yellow warning icon appears on the Systray?

Hmm, I've never had that problem. Have you tried the obvious?

(Uninstall reinstall)

Yup - many times, did all the latest drivers, Vista updates, praying, crying etc., etc.

The only way round this problems has been to dual boot to an old drive with XP running.

if i remember(i hate my vista computer so i just use my old Pentium 3 now)
it means that some driver or hard ware component has failed or some thing

I had that problem with my old computer, it's a component of your computer (the graphics card likely) that failed and restarted itself.

Did your screen go black for some 20sec or so before coming back on the desktop with that icon in the tray ?
