i ran ad aware and spybot and they come up with no results, but my computer is still running clunky.

Hi wickedtoaster. After reviewing your log I see no signs of viruses or malware at this time. The log is clean.

Slowdowns can happen for many reasons. Here's a couple of things that you can look into.

1 - try a disk cleaning program to clean up the temporary file areas. Everytime you surf the web or delete a file these areas buildup with clutter. Here's a couple of programs to clean up your hard drive:
Download CCleaner

CCleaner or

2 - if the above doesn't work then another thing to check is the McAfee program. It is known to get hung up after an update and simple chew up system resources. Try completely uninstalling it and reinstalling it. If the problem is with McAfee this will usually clear it up.

Since this issue does not ppear to be malware related I will close this topic. If you are still encountering problems I would suggest posting in the WinXP forum and see what they have to say regarding this problem.
