my email on occasion contains file associations that i'm unable to open. a message reads " my program does not have a file associated with it .................". the latest attachment is listed as photography pps. please advise

First thing to do in that situation...use Google and look up the given file extension.
That will tell you what program(s) are needed to open files with that extension.
Once that is known, see if any of those programs are installed on your system. If not, then you need to consider installing a program that will enable you to open said file. The data provided on the file extension...will indicate what programs might open said file.
