Hi there, I'm a noob so I don't know if I'm posting in the right place. I have a 3 yr old Lenovo Z61t, running XP. All original hardware. I'm getting a blue screen error at boot up. It shuts the computer down and restarts and it happens again. I've wiped the hard drive (thinking it was maybe a virus) and formatted it, and reinstalled windows, and still the same problem. Gotta be a hardware problem. Can anyone help? I've posted a picture of the blue screen.

Hi .

Not so easy...take a look at http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm.

You want the section dealing with 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

The fact that you wiped the hard drive and the problem remains...suggests (IMO) a possible hard drive problem or RAM problem...so I would test those two seemingly obvious candidates before doing anything else.

Louis, thanks so much. That was very quick and you hit it on the head. I removed the extra RAM module I put in a couple of years ago (which I had forgotten about), and now the laptop is working again. All I need now is to buy new memory.....
Thanks very much!
