BleepingComputer.com: Windows Police Pro and Desote.exe

I was using a torrent site to download a game, after the download I got this alert msg that my computer was infected. The alerts kept popping up every few minutes. I knew the alerts were from spyware, but when I tried to run my software for it, SuperAnitSpyware, it wouldn't start. I installed a program that I'd gotten from a friend called Spyware Doctor and ran a scan with it. Spyware Doctor seemed to find it and get rid of it, but then today when I started my computer it was back. Ran Spyware Doctor again and got rid of the things it found, it said that it needed to restart so I did. When I started my computer I found that I wasn't able to open any programs at all. And I kept getting error messages involving "desote.exe" and whenever I open Explorer, I get taken to Google.

Update 1:56 PM 9/3/09: I found the name of the virus/trojan/whatever it is: Antispyware 2010 in Spyware Doctor. I'm still getting the error messages about Desote.exe and a couple for "h.exe" and "l.exe". While this thing isn't called Police Pro, it is still acting like it. I think the only reason I can run Spyware Doctor is because it starts when my computer does. I can't start any other programs though, I can still go into files and open certain things like ebooks. It seems like Spyware Doctor is working overtime trying to stop this thing from running something every few minutes and when I do a scan it's only finding parts of it.

Is it possible for me to fix something like this? With help of course. Or would it be better for me to take my computer in to some kind of shop? If so, what kind of questions should I ask?

I know these aren't easy questions to answer and some time will be needed and probably more information from me. I just wanted to say that I'm not rushing and I appreciate any help or answers that can be given to me in advance.

Some general hints to get along with the instructions:
Popup-windows you can close with Alt-F4 (programs start after closing the popups several time), do not use the task bar, open the programs with Start/Program/...

We Need to check for Rootkits with RootRepeal

• Download RootRepeal from the following location and save it to your desktop.
  • Direct Download (Recommended)
    • Primary Mirror

A brief update, using the tips on this site. I was able to get my .exe files to work again and run Malware Bytes and Spyware Doctore, now my computer is almost back to normal. I still have a few infections showing up each time I scan. And for some reason my computer isn't recongizing me as admin anymore, even though my account is set that way.

You still have the rootkit. The new ones that are out now are more stubborn. It takes a special script, tailored to the computer in question. So do not read and copy someone else's

Now that you have posted a log here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic256047.html you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member, nor should you ask for help elsewhere.
